Amol Mahajani is a Nevis Co-founder, head of Software engineering, and a member of the Office of the CTO. He brings over 20 years of software engineering experience in networking systems and software products. His strong networking background and keen understanding of technologies and markets drove him to the idea of integrating security with networking using powerful ASICs. Prior to joining Nevis Networks, Mahajani was Senior Manager of the Optical Management Unit at Cisco Systems, where he oversaw the development of Cisco Transport Manager, a connectivity and management solution for Cisco's Optical Networking products. Mahajani was Cofounder and VP of Technology at iManage which was acquired by Pipelinks and eventually by Cisco Systems. His career began at Novell as a Senior Manager developing the NetWare/NFS product line. Mahajani graduated with a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the IIT, Bombay.
Dr. Joseph Tardo is Chief Security Architect at Nevis Networks and a member of the Office of the CTO. He has over 25 years experience in computer and communications security. At Nevis, he initiated and developed the overall LAN Security Architecture that forms the basis for the Nevis LAN security switch and transparent security bridge products. Before Nevis, Dr. Tardo was a Principal Scientist at Broadcom Corporation, where he developed the security architecture and interfaces for high performance IPsec and SSL ASICs. Previously, he was at Freegate Corporation, Raptor Systems, General Magic, and Digital Equipment Corporation, where he was a Consulting Engineer. He has a long background in security standards participation, is currently an active member of the IETF NEA Working Group and contributor to the recently distributed NEA requirements Internet Draft, and represented Nevis in the Trusted Network Connect group within TCG, where he co-authored the standard for IF-T. He earned his Ph.D. and MS in Computer Science from UCLA, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tulane University.
Shehzad Merchant has over 15 years of experience in networking and security. Prior to his role in the Office of the CTO at Nevis Networks, Shehzad was a co-founder and VP of Engineering at Polytime Systems which focused on providing acceleration engines for security applications in the UTM space. Prior to Polytime, Shehzad was part of the founding team at Extreme Networks where he played several technology and management leadership roles in the wired and wireless switching arena. His previous engagements include SRI International and Allied Telesyn. Shehzad has several patents in the field of networking.
Dr. Khushboo Shah is a Senior Research Scientist at Nevis Networks and a member of the Office of the CTO. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California focusing on traffic analysis for intrusion detection. She brings a wealth of expertise in designing algorithms and architecture for detection and prevention of malware in enterprise networks, including scans, worms, denial-of-service attacks, and botnets. Dr. Shah has published and presented at many conferences in the area of traffic analysis and anomaly detection. She is an active reviewer and serves on the technical program committee for several security conferences. Most recently, she has spoken at Internet Security Workshop about architecture and algorithms to reduce unwanted incidents. She has authored several patents through her research at Nevis. She holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a B.S. in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from L.D. College of Engineering. She is a member of ISSA, IEEE, and ACM.
Dominic Wilde is vice president of marketing at Nevis Networks Inc., and has more than 15 years of marketing, product management and engineering experience in the enterprise networking and security industry. He joined the company in its early days, and in this role he is responsible for overall direction, strategy and marketing of Nevis products worldwide. Prior to joining Nevis, Dominic was Director of Product Marketing at Vernier Networks, where he led a product strategy that positioned Vernier as the leader in the WLAN Security Gateway category. His other achievements include the introduction of Marconi’s first line of Enterprise Ethernet switches, achieving $16M in sales in the first year. Prior to this, at Madge Networks, Dominic held both business and technical management roles, serving Fortune 500 companies with Token Ring, Ethernet and ATM technologies. Dominic started his career in his native Great Britain as a fresh graduate with a startup focused on securing and auditing Novell Netware connected endpoints. Dominic is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth, UK with a degree in Computer Science.
